CTWorks Career Coach, Public Speaking Help This Week in Stratford

Monday
CTWorks Career Coach at the Stratford Library The CTWorks Career Coach is a career center on wheels designed to deliver career services and training opportunities free of charge to adult job seekers. All sessions are free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. The Coach opens for business at 10 a.m., is closed from noon to 1 p.m. and reopens from 1-3 p.m.
Back-to-School Immunization Clinic Sponsored by the Stratford Health Department on Monday and Tuesday, noon to 6 p.m. Vaccines will be available so that school-aged children, 18 years of age and under, can be up-to-date with their shots for the start of school. No appointment is necessary.
Tuesday
Park City Toastmasters Club Meeting: Park City Toastmasters is an open group of members wanting to become better speakers and gain confidence for anything from being able to ace a job interview, network with business associates or give a speech or presentation to a large audience. Group meets every Tuesday evening at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Facility, 7003 Main St., Stratford. Free and open to everyone.
Wednesday
Get the Facts on Medicare, Social Security AARP Connecticut is hosting a Community Conversation with residents of Stratford and surrounding communities about the future of Medicare and Social Security on Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Oronoque Village Auditorium, 600 North Trail, Stratford. Event is free and refreshments will be served.
