Fright Haven Sponsors Valentine's Blood Drive
This drive comes when the Red Cross has a severe winter blood shortage and has issued an emergency call for donors to give blood.

From Fright Haven: This Valentines weekend, CT's largest and scariest indoor haunted attraction - Fright Haven - is the destination for a romantic evening with all your worst nightmares. Cupid is tearing out his wings and taking deadly aim with his arrow. He’s had enough of matchmaking, and is ready to wreak havoc on all the thankless hearts of the world. This Valentine Weekend, there won’t be sweet chocolates and candy hearts; there will be blood. Treat your (in)significant other to 'a date night to die for' at Fright Haven’s "VALENTINE’S DAY MASSACRE," an exclusive, one-of-a-kind event coming to Connecticut for just two nights only: this Friday, February 10th and this Saturday, February 11th from 7-10 PM.
In conjunction with the Valentines haunted weekend, Fright Haven is teaming up with the Red Cross to sponsor a blood drive this Friday, February 10 from 11am-4pm. To encourage participation, Fright Haven's "Fright Family" are not only hosting the "Save a Life Bus' on the grounds of their haunted house, they are also presenting donors with tickets to their "VALENTINES DAY MASSACRE." Fright Haven is located in the Stratford Square Shopping Plaza, 411 Barnum Avenue Cutoff next to L.A. Fitness and Ninety Nine Restaurant (across from Home Depot). Open to all ages but recommended for 13 and over.
This blood drive comes when the Red Cross has a severe winter blood shortage and has issued an emergency call for donors to give now so patients can continue to receive the lifesaving treatments they need. In addition to a decline in blood donation appointments during the holiday season, winter weather is also impacting Red Cross collection efforts. Since December. 1, more than 350 blood drives have been canceled due to severe weather, resulting in over 13,000 uncollected blood and platelet donations.

“The need for blood doesn’t pause for severe weather – it’s constant,” said Alyson Barraza, Communications Manager for the Connecticut Blood Services Region. “Right now, blood and platelet donations are being distributed to hospitals faster than they are coming in. Eligible donors of all blood types are critically needed.”
For the two evenings this weekend, Fright Haven's "VALENTINES DAY MASSACRE" brings visitors all new attractions with all new scares, as it did this past Holiday season with its highly acclaimed “A Frightmare Before Christmas.”
Take a peek into the ultimate date night gone wrong, and learn where lovesick souls go when the heartbreak drives them mad. The Tunnel of Love runs red with blood, a romantic candlelit dinner goes up in flames, and the teddy bears won’t be so cute and cuddly. Bloodthirsty lovers scorned and relentless admirers wait around every twist and turn in this horrifying take on the sweetest of holidays. This special two-night-only event may change the way you think about Valentine’s Day forever…that is, if you escape the rampaging Cupid and make it out with hearts intact.
