STRATFORD, CT — An 18-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a sexual extortion plot, according to police.
Capt. Jerry Pinto said that during a three-day period in May, the Stratford Police Department Detective Bureau received three separate complaints from three adult females who claimed to have been victims of sexual extortion via a texting application.
The three separate women told police that a man had threatened to put sexually explicit photos of them on the internet if they did not send him more intimate photos of themselves, according to Pinto.

“During this investigation, it was determined that the same male suspect was responsible for all three of these incidents,” Pinto wrote in a news release. “A fourth juvenile victim was also identified and she too identified the same male suspect.”
Mikel Reyes, 18, was arrested June 25 on three counts of criminal attempt at first-degree larceny by extortion, risk of injury to a minor and disseminating an intimate image. He was released after posting a $150,000 bond with a court date of July 2.
