Obituary: Gertrude Wilson, 101, of Stratford
Gertrude, known for her kindness, optimism and smile, was an avid supporter of Heifer Project International and a proud dairy farmer.
STRATFORD, CT - (From Dennis & D'Arcy Funeral Home) Gertrude Wilson was born on November 28, 1920, in Stratford, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Nathan and Mabel Warren Wells.
She entered into eternal rest on January 25, 2022, at Lord Chamberlain; close to where she was born.
Gertrude and her husband, Robert, were proud dairy farmers in Shelton, CT. She enjoyed educating people about dairy farming and how important dairy farmers were.
She was also an avid supporter of Heifer Project International.
Gertrude was an active member of the Far Mill River Grange for 75 years and Huntington Congregational Church UCC in Shelton.
She will be remembered for her kindness, optimism, and smile.
Gertrude was predeceased by her husband, Robert Wilson, her sister, Ruth E. (Wells) Desrosiers, her brother, Warren E. Wells, and her niece, Sharon Danner.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Marion Wells, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Friends may greet the family on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 11-12pm at the Dennis & D’Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St., Stratford.
A funeral service will take place at 12pm. Interment will be in the Cornwall Cemetery, Cornwall, CT at a date to be determined.
