Obituary: Helen Jaminsky Ugolik, 93, of Stratford

Helen was a well known teller for the Peoples Bank Paradise Green Branch, where she worked for 20 years.

STRATFORD, CT - (From Adzima Funeral Home) Helen Jaminsky Ugolik, age 93, of Stratford, passed away Sunday November 14 after a short illness.

She was surrounded by her children Stanley, Joyce Ann, Lorraine and Madalyn. Helen was also a beloved grandmother to five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was always concerned with their welfare.

Helen was well known as a teller for Peoples Bank, Paradise Green Branch, where she worked for 20 years.

Prior to that, she also worked for Read’s Department store where co-workers were a second family to her. Helen was involved with the Saint James Senior Group and Eucharist Adoration for many years as well as the prayer group at Our Lady of Grace.

She often talked about her childhood on her parent’s farm in Stepney with her two brothers and two sisters Sophie, Rudy, Betty and Sammy. Helen could most often be found in her gardens, vegetable and flower, including her favorite tiger lilies, pansies, and portulaca.

Throughout the year she focused on baking –apple pies, lemon cheesecake, as well as ethic favorites of stuffed cabbage and haluski. Her laugh was frequent and contagious, and she found joy during her days.

Friends can visit on Wednesday November 17th from 9-10 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Saint James Roman Catholic Church, 2110 Main Street, Stratford. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford.
