Obituary: John F. Therina, 76, formerly of Stratford
John was a proud U.S. Army veteran and a retired Stratford Police officer with 37 years of service.
STRATFORD, CT - (From William R. McDonald Funeral Home) John F. Therina, age 76, of Bridgeport and formerly of Stratford, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021 in Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by family.
He was born August 3, 1944 in Bridgeport, son of the late Sam and Mildred (Noviello) Therina and had been a lifelong area resident.
John was a United States Army veteran and a retired Stratford Police officer with 37 years of service.
He enjoyed fishing, was a gun enthusiast and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his beloved son John P. Therina of Monroe and his former wife Michaelena “Mickie” of Stratford.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral service celebrated by Deacon John Piatak on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford.
Interment with Military Honors will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery.
Friends may visit with his family Wednesday before service time from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
