Obituary: John Fields Blersch Sr., Age 65
Mr. Blersch, a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Airforce, was born in Bridgeport to the late Karl and Gertrude (Fields) Belrsch, and has been a lifelong area resident.

John Fields Blersch Sr., age 65, of Stratford, beloved husband of Joanne Congiglere Blersch, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012 in Yale New Haven MC.
Mr. Blersch, a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Airforce, was born in Bridgeport to the late Karl and Gertrude (Fields) Belrsch, and has been a lifelong area resident.
He graduated from Bullard Havens Tech HS, Housatonic CC, Norwalk Tech, University of Maryland, and the Armed Forces Institute, and was a retired from General Electric with 31 years of service.

John was a member of Messiah Baptist Church in Bridgeport, where he was involved in the Men’s Chorus, First Aid Ministry and the Men of Kingdom Ministry.
He was a volunteer substance abuse counselor at the Bridgeport Mental Health Center, a member of St. John’s Lodge #8 AF&AM, VFW, Goldbach Post, and was a friend of Bill W. for 31 years. John was a private pilot and loved to fly.

Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include, his children John F. Blersch Jr of Milford, and Christina M. Baronoski and her husband John of Stratford, a sister-in-law Solveig Barton and her husband Robert of NY, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m. in Messiah Baptist Church 210 Congress St Bridgeport with Rev. Tyrone P. Jones IV officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to Messiah Baptist Church in John’s memory.
