Obituary: Joseph A. Dobosz, Age 91

Joseph A. Dobosz, age 91, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Helen Kepchar Dobosz, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 in Bridgeport Hospital.

Mr. Dobosz, a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army, was born in New Britain to the late Alexander and Tillie Dobosz, and had been a lifelong area resident.

He was a retired toolmaker for Lacy Manufacturing, and was a member of St John’s Church. Joe was an avid Red Sox fan, and golfer, scoring a hole in one at Millstone Golf Course, in Milford.

Survivors include his beloved children Christine Peters and her husband Dane of Brooklyn, N.Y., Greg Dobosz and his wife Colleen of Stratford and Karen VanOlden and her husband Paul of Stratford; grandchildren Aaron Peters and his wife Heidi Keup, Mark Peters, Brittany and Jillian Dobosz, Alexander, Christopher and Kierstyn Van Olden; 2 great-grandchildren Harper and Nell, 2 sisters Irene Osowski and Marion Kaputa, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was pre-deceased by a brother Walter.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 9:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford and at 10 a.m. in St John the Baptist Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St John’s Cemetery, Stratford.

Friends may call on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. In Lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to St. John’s Senior “R” Club Scholarship Fund, in Joseph’s memory.
