Obituary: Mary A. Krafcik, 98, of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT - (From Pistey Funeral Home) Mary A. Krafcik, age 98, beloved wife of the late William F. Krafcik, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at Milford Health And Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Clinton, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Deptula Olender.

She was a long-time resident of Stratford and retired from Remington Products. Her family will remember her for her talent of sewing, crocheting, and baking.

Mary is survived by her loving family: daughter, Linda Kopchak and her husband, Robert; Karen Cimino and her husband, John; her granddaughters, Amy Kopchak and her husband, Lynn, and Kristy Matchett and her husband, Jack, as well as four great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Marion and Beatrice Krafcik; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Mary was predeceased by her brothers, John Olender, Joseph Olender, and Henry Olender; her sisters, Jessie Olender, Anna Verikas, Helen Owsiany, Theresa Zegarski, Florence Byczko, and Cecilia Case.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Milford Health Care and Constellation Hospice for their dedication and compassionate care of Mary.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Milford.

Friends may visit the morning of the funeral from 9:15-10:15 a.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford.

Visitors must wear a mask, greet the family without lingering, and then leave to join the family at church.

There will be no procession.
