Obituary: Teresa M. Conforti, 92, of Stratford

Teresa, an avid gardener and fan of crocheting, was a member of the Baldwin Center and worked at General Electric for many years.

STRATFORD, CT - (From Adzima Funeral Home) Teresa M. Conforti, age 92, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Santo Conforti, passed away on August 17, 2021, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Teresa was born in Serino, Province of Avelino, Italy on November 26, 1928, to the late Michele and Francesca (DePiano) Mariconda and moved to the Unites States in 1958.

She worked at General Electric for thirty-seven years, retiring in 2005. Teresa was a member of the Fitness Group at GE and was also a member of the Baldwin Center. She was an avid gardener, and was very proud of her garden, which was more like a farm.

She also enjoyed crocheting baby blankets for the hospitals, hats and gloves for the homeless shelters, and prayer shawls for the sick. Above all else, Teresa loved her family, and her family who loved her deeply will sadly miss her.

Survivors include her devoted children, Michael Conforti, and Ida Carey and her husband Tim all of Stratford, cherished grandchildren, Jessica Carey (Arnauld), Deanna Ritchie (Dan), and Mackenzie Carey (Jenny), great-grandchildren, Wren, Adi, Rose, Jaxson, Ace, Maverick, Prim, Stone, and Pippen, brother, Michael Mariconda, sister, Angelina Mariconda, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Teresa was pre-deceased by her son, John, brothers, Gaetano, Francesco, and Liberato, and sisters, Vincenza, and Maria.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 23rd from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mark Church.

Everyone in attendance must follow the COVID 19 guidelines, wear a mask and practice social distancing. Entombment will be in St. Monica’s Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
