October Flu Clinic at Baldwin Senior Center

The Stratford Health Department is hosting a flu clinic on Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 9-11 a.m.

The Stratford Health Department is hosting a flu clinic on Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 9-11 a.m. at the Baldwin Senior Center, 1000 W Broad St. This flu clinic is open to the public.

Bernice Bova, the RN Public Health Nursing Supervisor, can’t stress enough just how important getting a flu vaccine can be.

Bova says, “Getting the flu vaccine each year is the best possible way to protect yourself and your loved ones from the flu.”

No appointments are necessary for this October clinic. All vaccines will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. The Stratford Health Department offers the standard flu vaccine (ages 6 months and over) as well as the high dose vaccine (over 65 years of age).

Insurances accepted for the flu vaccines include Medicare Part B, Anthem BC/BS, Connecticare, Cigna and Aetna. We accept Medicaid for children only. We do not accept United Healthcare.

Children under the age of 5 and uninsured children between the ages of 5 and 18 can receive their flu vaccine for free. Those not covered by the insurance providers listed above will be charged a $36 fee for the standard flu vaccine and a $65 fee for the high dose vaccine, payable by cash or check. The pneumonia vaccine will also be available and costs $190.00 if not covered by insurance.
