Public Events Set For Stratford’s 1st-Ever Arboretum Project
The town is hosting a tent event at the project site, along with a public presentation on the project as its design phase comes to an end.
STRATFORD, CT — The design phase for Stratford’s first-ever Arboretum is coming to an end and the town is hosting two public events this week to discuss the grant-funded project.
“The Arboretum will serve as a community-oriented green space that promotes outdoor recreation, environmental education, and enhanced connectivity to our natural environment while acting as a natural buffer between the industrial and residential area,” Mayor Laura Hoydick wrote in a post on Facebook.
Residents can visit the project property (Access Road / Philo Street) on Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to “learn more about the project and comment on its design - we will also be walking the neighborhood to engage directly with residents,” according to Hoydick. “If you cannot make it to the tent event on property, please join us on Thursday (August 21) at 5:30 in Room 110 at Birdseye for the public presentation.”
