Joe House, owner of Last Call Wines & Liquors at Stratford Center, knows his wine -- his shop carries hundreds of varieties.
House says red blends -- wine that combines grapes from other reds -- are the "hottest thing going in wine right now."
"It's not a straightforward Cabernet or Merlot -- it's a blend," he says. "It's a nice, fresh wine."
House says wine companies are aggressively pushing this market.
Last Call's owner says the most popular red blend in his shop is one called Apothic Red, which fuses Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah and Zinfindel.
