Rescue Group Raises Funds For Abused Dog In Stratford: Report
Abby, a 17-year-old dog, reportedly was removed from her Stratford home in March, and her owner has been charged with animal cruelty.
STRATFORD, CT — Funds are being raised for the medical treatment and ongoing care of a 17-year-old Stratford dog at the center of an animal cruelty case, News 12 Connecticut reported.
The dog, named Abby, was removed from her Stratford home in March, and her owner, Barbara Baldino, is facing charges of cruelty to animals, no rabies vaccination and failure to comply with animal regulations.
When Stratford Animal Control found Abby, the dog was malnourished, suffered from ear infections, had severely matted hair and other ailments.

Stratford Animal Rescue Society is seeking donations for Abby; whether the dog will recover to the point that she can be a candidate for adoption reportedly has not yet been decided.
A second abused dog that had been in Baldino's care reportedly could not be saved and was put down. Baldino's next court date is May 3.
