Rescued Dog Suffered ‘Unimaginable Neglect’ In Stratford, Officials Say

A nonprofit organization is raising funds for a dog that is in "critical need of a blood transfusion and intensive medical care to survive."

STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford Animal Rescue Society is raising funds for a dog that the nonprofit organization says has “suffered unimaginable neglect.”

The organization recently launched an “urgent medical appeal” to raise funds for the dog named Blue.

“This gentle dog has suffered unimaginable neglect,” reads a post on the Stratford Animal Rescue Society’s Facebook page. “Rescued by Animal Control after his owner was arrested for cruelty, he arrived emaciated to the bone, weak, and covered in painful pressure sores on his hips. He is in critical need of a blood transfusion and intensive medical care to survive.

“Despite the pain he’s endured, he remains kind and trusting—his eyes say it all.”

Officials said every donated dollar will go directly to Blue’s care, including “emergency treatment, wound care, proper nutrition, and a chance to heal both physically and emotionally.”
