Square One Theatre Company Hosts "The Winslow Boy"

Performances start now and are scheduled to go through May 30.

Square One Theatre Company will host its 25th anniversary season, featuring three Stratford actors.

The production of “The Winslow Boy” by Terence Rattigan will feature Lucy Babbitt, Bruce Murray and Sam Noccioli. It will play on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays starting now through through May 30 at the Stratford Theatre on 2422 Main Street.

Other cast members include Square One Subscriber Award-Winners Jim Buffone of Milford, Ann Kinner of Westport, David Victor of Fairfield, Tess Brown of Bridgeport, as well as Ryan Hendrickson of Stamford and Joseph Maker of Darien, who are making their Square One stage debuts.

“The Winslow Boy” is directed by Stratford’s Tom Holehan

Sir Terence Rattigan (1911–1977), a British playwright and author of “The Winslow Boy”, is considered a master of the well-made play. “The Winslow Boy,” originated in 1946, is a drama based on a real-life case in which a young boy at the Royal Naval College was unjustly accused of theft, won a New York Critics award..

Performances of The Winslow Boy are:

  • Friday, May 15 (2015) at 8pm
  • Saturday, May 16 at 8pm
  • Sunday, May 17 at 2pm (matinee)
  • Friday, May 22 at 8pm
  • Saturday, May 23 at 8pm
  • Sunday, May 24 at 2pm (matinee)
  • Friday, May 29 at 8pm
  • Saturday, May 30 at 4pm (twilight matinee)
  • Saturday, May 30 at 8pm (final performance)

Behind the scenes are Stratford’s Kimberly Krol as stage manager, Judy Keegan in charge of costumes, Don Henault in charge of sound, Shelton’s Greg Fairbend and Stratford’s Robert Mastroni in charge of scenery, and Milford’s Cliff Fava in charge of lights.

Tickets are $20 for adult single tickets and $19 for senior citizens & students.

The Stratford Theatre is wheelchair accessible and also offers its patrons hearing-assisted listening devices as needed. Please inform the box office of any special needs when reserving tickets.
