Stratford Celebrates Museums Month: Here’s What To Know

As part of Stratford Museums Month, each museum offers a special, such as discounted or free admission, or other discounts, officials said.

From Town of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT — The Town of Stratford is proud to showcase its growing museums community during the third annual Stratford Museums Month this June, welcoming both new visitors and loyal patrons and inviting participation in a month-long giving campaign.

As part of Stratford Museums Month, each museum will provide a special offer, such as discounted or free admission, a discount on merchandise, etc.

A highlight of the campaign is the “Hidden Gems Passport,” which will be available for pick-up at each museum, the Stratford Public Library and Town Hall throughout the month of June.

While visiting a museum, patrons are encouraged to get their passports stamped. As each stamp constitutes a chance to win the coveted Museums Swag Bag, we challenge visitors to tour each museum (although incomplete passports are still eligible.) At the conclusion of the campaign, visitors should email photos of their passports to museums@townofstratford.com or drop them off at Town Hall, Room 118, by Monday, July 7.

“As an historic New England town founded in 1639, our museums are among our most treasured assets,” Stratford Mayor Laura R. Hoydick said. “Stratford is currently home to 11 unique museums -- with another in the planning stages -- each with a distinct story to tell. Come, explore, learn the stories, and consider a donation to ensure that these stories are told for generations to come.”

To make a donation and for information about each Stratford museum, please visit www.stratfordhiddengems.com. The site features an interactive map linking users to each museum’s website.
