Occupation:
Chef
Family:
Jennifer, wife.
Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No
Previous public office, appointive or elective:
Yes, Town Council 2015. State Representative 2018
Why are you seeking this office?
With my skills and knowledge of State and Town management and public policy, I believe I would be an asset to our town.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Good Government. By being truthful and transparent about the state of our town we, the Council can work collaboratively with the Administration confronting Stratford’s issues.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Experience. The ability to not rely on the administration’s explanation of issues, and the ability to ask questions that will hold the administration accountable.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Our boards and commissions have to be populated by people on both sides of the aisle. By mostly being populated by Republicans it really does a disservice to our neighbors by not having new people and new ideas for the Town.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have been a town councilor, was the Majority Leader and Chair of the Ordinance Committee. I understand the budget but know how to get things done. The Nichols School turnaround was accomplished in record setting time. I successfully lobbied the State Bonding Committee for $2.3 million for roof repairs to the Sterling House, after it had been initially turned down. I look forward to continuing these efforts.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
“People don’t plan to fail, they fail to plan.”
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I am a Democrat who is fiscally responsible, with proven positive results on a Town and State level.
