Stratford National Guard Soldier Receives New Rank

The promotion, which includes a new rank and new responsibilities, was recently announced.

STRATFORD, CT — (Contributed): Major General Ray Shields, the adjutant general for the state of New York, announces the recent promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their capability for additional responsibility and leadership.

Andrew Clark, from Stratford, and assigned to the Company A, 152nd Brigade Engineer Battalion, received a promotion on July 30 to the rank of staff sergeant.

Army National Guard promotions are based on a Soldier's overall performance, demonstrated leadership abilities, professionalism and future development potential.
