Stratford Resident Earns LEC Rookie Of The Week Honors

The Eastern Connecticut State University freshman earned the Little East Conference's honors for the second week in a row.

STRATFORD, CT — For the second week in a row, Stratford’s Angelina Taccogna, a freshman on the Eastern Connecticut State University women’s track and field team, was named the Little East Conference’s Rookie Field Athlete of the Week, officials announced.

Taccogna, a Stratford High School graduate, had the ninth-longest long jump in the Little East Conference this year and 10th-longest in program history with a mark of 16-4 ¼ (4.98m) which placed her sixth in a field of 31 jumpers at the non-scoring NYU Division III Challenge Saturday at The Armory in New York City.

She was also 16th among 24 in the high jump at 4-9 (1.45m).
