Stratford Resident Named To GNAC All-Tournament Team

STRATFORD, CT — Stratford’s Jayquan Kirkland, a sophomore on the Albertus College men’s basketball team, was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Tournament team for his performance in the quarterfinals and semifinals of the tournament.

Kirkland was named to the team after averaging 17.5 points, five rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 50 percent from 3-point range.

In a GNAC quarterfinals win over No. 5 seed, Norwich, Kirkland scored nine points with seven rebounds during the 72-57 win.

Against top seed Saint Joseph's College (Maine) in a GNAC semifinals loss, Kirkland registered a career-high 26 points, including 5-for-10 from 3-point range.
