STRATFORD, CT— As Tropical Storm Henri approaches, Connecticut's Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security is encouraging those on the shoreline to know their hurricane evacuation zone.

View the map below or click here to view evacuation zones in Stratford. People living in the dark orange areas are recommended to evacuate if a category 1 or 2 hurricane is approaching. People in the gold/yellow-orange areas are recommended to evacuate if a category 3 or 4 evacuation is approaching.

The National Weather Service issued a hurricane watch for all of southern Connecticut on Friday morning, NBC Connecticut reports. The National Hurricane Center estimates Henri will reach southern New England by Sunday.

In Stratford, there are public shelters located at Baldwin Center, Birdseye Complex, Bunnell High School, Flood Junior High School, Second Hill Lane Elementary School, Stratford High School, and Wooster Junior High School.

United Illuminating says it has doubled the size of its field crews in anticipation of Henri, including line workers, tree trimmers, and damage assessment teams.
