Veterans Day Parade To Be Held In Stratford

Veterans from Stratford and neighboring communities will participate in the parade route.

STRATFORD, CT — Stratford’s second Veterans Day Parade will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9, the Marine Corps League Housatonic Detachment #1129 and the Town of Stratford announced this week.

The parade steps off at 11 a.m. from Stratford Town Hall, traveling south on Main Street. The parade will conclude at Academy Hill.

“We have organized this parade to thank the brave men and women who have served our country with selfless dedication,” Mayor Laura R. Hoydick said. “Our freedom is deeply rooted in their sacrifice, and let us commit to supporting our veterans. It is an honor to host this parade in Stratford.”

Veterans from Stratford and neighboring communities will participate in the parade route. Community and civic organizations are also invited to participate, whether it be marching in the parade or cheering on the sidelines of the parade route.

The parade is sponsored by Burns Construction, Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament, Riverview Bistro and Teamsters Local #1150.

Note: Main Street will be closed from Barnum Avenue to Academy Hill from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 9.
