WMS Pool-Play Round is Over Seedings and Pairings Announced
Junior Brakettes, in Pool A, and Stratford Brakettes, in Pool B, go 1-1 placing a two seed in their Pools

Pool Play is now complete in the 2024 Woman's Major Softball National Championship. The seedings are official and the pairings for the next round in the double elimination tournament have been announced.
Both the Stripes and Strikes and the Central Jersey Lightning went 2 - 0 in pool-play will have a bye until later today (Saturday) and will await the winner of the Junior Brakettes and the Ct Rebels game which had to be suspended Friday evening due to lighting and downpours.
The Junior Brakettes, 1-1 in pool-play, fell to the Central Jersey Lightning earlier Friday afternoon by a score of 13-0.

In that one the Lighting had 13 runs on 13 hits. The winning pitcher was Sarah Davenport, the losing pitcher was Karissa Spring. Holly Lovett, of the Lightning homered in the win.
The Junior Brakettes then went against the Ct Rebels on Friday evening. As the game went along the skies darkened and a couple bolts of lightning lit up the sky. Play was stopped and DeLuca Field was cleared to safer areas. Then the rains came and the game was suspended with the Rebels leading 2-1 in the top of the 4th and the Junior Brakettes at the plate. Play will resume at 9:00 Saturday morning.

The Friday 9:00 PM game between the Mid-Hudson Mustangs (0-2 in pool-play) and the Stratford Brakettes, 1-1 in pool-play, was postponed and will be played immediately following the Junior Brakette/Ct Rebels game Saturday morning.
On Friday afternoon the Stratford Brakettes lost to the Stripes and Strikes in 8 innings by a score of 9-7. The sea-saw battle ended as the Stripes and Strikes scored 2 runs in top of the eighth after the Brakettes tied the game at 7 in the 7th.
Tori Fletcher got the win as the Stripes and Strikes used three pitchers, Sierra Albright went three innings and was relieved by Jenn Shellhammer in the 4Th, followed by Fletcher in the 5th. Marissa Trivelpiece homered in the win. Kylie Bulinski, Katie Sciglimpaglia, and Chelsea Villar homered in the loss for the Stratford Brakettes.
