April 25: Big Week Ahead

Suffield citizens will vote on bonding projects at a referendum and the town's budget will be presented at a public hearing this week.

1. There is a 60 percent chance of rain today and the high temperature will be 55 °F. There will be patchy fog before noon and there is a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. There is a 50 percent chance of precipitation, including thunderstorms, tonight. There will be patchy fog before midnight and in the early morning, according to the National Weather Service.

2. A referendum will be held for Suffield citizens and property owners to vote on the four projects proposed for bonding. The projects, totalling $14.8 million, are Town Hall renovations, road and drainage improvements, new fire equipment and a new library. Look for more this week on Suffield Patch. The referendum will take place Thursday at Suffield Middle School from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

3. The town's budget for the coming fiscal year will be presented at a public hearing. Citizens can ask questions about the budget before it is presented for a vote at a town meeting. The hearing will take place Wednesday at Suffield High School at 7 p.m.
