April 28: Referendum Today

1. It will be mostly cloudy today with a 90 percent chance of rain. Look for fog in the morning and possible heavy rain in the afternoon. The high temperature will be near 72 °F. There will be more fog and rain tonight with an overnight low near 53 °F. The overall chance of rain tonight is close to 100 percent, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Polls for the referendum on bonding projects are open today from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Suffield Middle School. The four proposed projects are roads and drainage improvements, new fire equipment, Town Hall renovations and a new library.

3. The town held a public hearing on the proposed budget for the upcoming year last night. The Board of Finance has their final meeting regarding the current budget on Monday, May 2 and the budget will be presented for approval at a town meeting on May 11.
