Elderly Tax Credit Sign up Runs Feb. 1 to May 13, 2011

The Suffield Assessor’s Office will be accepting applications for the Elderly and Totally Disabled Homeowners Program’s tax credits starting February 1 through May 13, 2011. 

Homeowners currently on the program will be notified by mail if they are required to re-file this year.

Proof of 2010 income including Social Security must be submitted to the Assessor’s Office.  Income limits are $32,300 for an unmarried person and $39,500 for a married couple. Totally disabled applicants must provide proof of disability.

Additional Veteran’s Exemption Applications will also be accepted at this time.

The Assessor’s Office is in the Suffield Town Hall, at 83 Mountain Road and is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
