Fusion Concert in Suffield Sunday
The First Church of Christ, Congregational will host Duo Fusion, a two-person group that blends many musical styles, this Sunday.

Two exceptional musicians, Sarah Swersey on flute and Joe Belmont on guitar, will play the intricate sounds of their group Duo Fusion in a concert at on Sunday at 4 p.m.
Duo Fusion's extraordinary talents will create a special blending of style and captivating sounds. The group will take the audience on a journey through the musical world, including the sounds of classical, bossa nova and tango.

Sarah Swersey has performed both orchestral and chamber music in Europe and America. She is a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory and has a master’s degree from Yale University School of Music. For seven years she was principal flutist of the Orquestra Sinfonica de Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Spain. She has performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and Tanglewood. She expanded beyond her classical music background to do training in improvisation and work in jazz. She has a solo album, Nightingale, and currently teaches privately at the Northampton, MA, Community Center.
Joe Belmont, recognized as one of the finest guitarists in New England, plays an extraordinary broad range of styles – classical, jazz, flamenco and rock, to name a few. He grew up in New York City, and made his first recordings at age 17. Joe played classical guitar and received a degree in music theory and composition from the City University of New York. In addition to Duo Fusion, he plays with the world beat band, Viva Quetzal, and is the lead guitarist for the acoustic pop group Satinwood. He has two solo albums and is presently on the performance faculty at Amherst College and director of jazz studies at the Northampton, MA, Community Center.

There is a suggested donation of $10 at the door. The Music on High performing arts series relies solely on the gifts of its patrons and benefactors.
Its mission is to provide quality arts entertainment for the region.
