George Austin, a small business owner, community leader, and first-generation American, has officially announced his candidacy for U.S. Congress in Connecticut’s 2nd District.

Austin built his career in construction management and entrepreneurship, and now he’s running to bring a fresh perspective as part of a new generation of leaders, along with real-world experience, to Washington. His campaign will focus on securing our borders whilst restoring law and order to keep Connecticut families safe, making life more affordable, and restoring trust in government—so that Connecticut is once again a place where people want to live, work, raise a family, and retire.
He also champions trade education and promotes opportunities for young people through apprenticeships, on-the-job training, and the expansion of technical education programs. By partnering with Connecticut manufacturers like defense staples Pratt & Whitney and Electric Boat, Austin seeks to build a pipeline that will train and retain the next generation of skilled workers in Connecticut.

“I know the tough choices Connecticut families face because my own family faces them too,” Austin said. “As a husband, father, and small business owner, I’ve worked hard to overcome challenges and live my American Dream. I’m running for Congress to fight for family, freedom, and the future—for every resident of eastern Connecticut.”

A proud first-generation American, Austin’s life is rooted in resilience. While raising his family, he worked his way through Central Connecticut State University, built a successful business from the ground up, and has been an active supporter of youth sports and local community organizations.
Austin’s campaign priorities include:

  • Lowering Costs for Families: Tackling inflation, reducing energy bills, and cutting oppressive taxes and mandates.
  • Protecting Jobs: Keeping defense and restoring manufacturing jobs in Connecticut while supporting the small businesses that drive our economy.
  • Restoring Trust: Bringing honesty, transparency, and common-sense leadership back to Washington.
  • Standing with Communities: Supporting law & order, respecting our veterans and seniors, and ensuring parents’ rights reign supreme in their children’s education and everyday lives.

“It’s time to send leaders to Washington who serve the people, not themselves,” Austin said. “With the right leadership in place, we can Make Connecticut Great Again.”
