Kick Off 2026 at the Roaring ’20s Party!

Everyone is invited to ring in the new year with fun for all ages at the Roaring ’20s Party on January 8, 5:30–8:00 p.m. This lively celebration includes a mock casino, speakeasy-themed refreshments, music and dancing, games, and several rounds of group Bingo at the end of the evening with gift card prizes. It’s a festive and memorable way to welcome 2026 together as a community.

Small Business & Not-For-Profit Series

Among the department’s highlights is the expansion of its Small Business and Not-for-Profit Series. In addition to returning favorites, two new free programs are being offered this winter to support entrepreneurs, small business owners, nonprofits, and local organizations. The first, Tune Up Your Local Business Brand for 2026: Look Sharp, Sound Clear, Stand Out, will take place on Thursday, January 22, 6:30–7:30 p.m. at the Suffield Senior Center. Led by Barb Shimasaki, owner of Barking Dogs Digital, this one-hour, DIY-friendly workshop—free to all participants—helps attendees refresh their brand using simple, low-cost tools, including Canva’s new AI features, to strengthen visual appeal and message clarity. Participants will leave with a Brand Plan Clarity punch list and enjoy light snacks and refreshments. A second free program, Video Made Simple: Content Creation for Small Businesses, will be held Thursday, January 28, 6:00–7:30 p.m. at the Suffield Senior Center. Taught by Alyssa Salerno, Media Specialist with The Stephanie Salerno Team at Coldwell Banker Realty, this session provides easy, effective techniques for planning, recording, and posting videos that boost online engagement and visibility. Both workshops are free and open to ages 16 and older.
