High and Low Fuel Prices for Aug. 11

Connecticut residents are paying an average of $3.99 per gallon of gas Thursday, 37 cents more than the national per-gallon average of $3.62. Connecticut gas prices remain the second highest in the nation. Hawaii’s average per-gallon price of $4.13 is the most expensive.
The national per-gallon average is down 3 cents from Tuesday, Aug. 9. The Connecticut state average fell 2 cents in the same period, according to AAA.
One gallon of gasoline cost $2.89 on average in Connecticut on Aug. 11, 2010, $1.10 less than the current average price. Gas prices in Connecticut peaked at an average of $4.39 per gallon on July 9, 2008, 40 cents more than the current average price.
