High and Low Fuel Prices for Aug. 23

Connecticut residents are paying an average of $3.92 per gallon of gas Tuesday, 35 cents more than the national per-gallon average of $3.57. Connecticut gas prices remain the second highest in the nation. Hawaii has been the fuel price leader this summer. The Aloha State’s $4.10 average per-gallon price is the country’s highest.
The national per-gallon average dropped 2 cents since Thursday, Aug. 18. The Connecticut state average also fell 2 cents in the same period, according to AAA.
