High and Low Fuel Prices for August 2

Connecticut residents are paying an average price of $4.06 per gallon of gas Tuesday, 35 cents more than the national per-gallon average of $3.71. The average per-gallon price is higher only in Hawaii, where a gallon costs an average of $4.13.
The national per-gallon average has stayed steady, rising 1 cent since Thursday, July 28. The state average increased by 1 cent as well, according to AAA. Connecticut gas prices have increased by an average of 14 cents since July 28. An average gallon of gas in Connecticut was priced at $2.86 on August 2, 2010, $1.20 less per gallon than the current price.
