High and Low Fuel Prices for July 19

Connecticut residents are paying $4.02 per gallon of gas on average today, 31 cents more than the national per-gallon average of $3.77. Connecticut remains among the 10 states with the highest gas prices.

The national per-gallon average is up 5 cents from Tuesday, July 12, and the state average rose 6 cents in the same period, according to AAA. Connecticut gas prices peaked in 2011 on May 1, when they averaged $4.27 per gallon. The highest recorded average per-gallon price for Connecticut was $4.39 on July 9, 2008.

An average gallon of gas in Connecticut was priced at approximately $3.30 on January 1, 72 cents less than the current average price.
