New Equine Rescue Program Hosts Fun Day
Wildfire Farms in East Granby promoted its new equine rescue program with food, fun, demonstrations and horses.
Wildfire Farms Equine Rescue, a new non-profit program at Wildfire Farms in East Granby, held its first open-barn farm fun day on May 19.
Visitors enjoyed the nice weather along with food, games, demonstrations and the company of horses. The equine rescue program has horses looking for permanent homes. The fun day helped bring people to the farm to interact with the horses as well as consider giving one a home.
The farm is “dedicated to the compassionate care of equines in need and restoring horsemanship, the heritage and humane treatment of the horse,” according to farm member and Suffield Middle School teacher Lorie Hunt-Stacy.
