• Want To See How Policing Works? Suffield PD Opens Citizen Academy (patch.com) — Suffield residents are invited to join a free Citizen Police Academy run by the Suffield Police Department, offering an eight-week, behind-the-scenes look at modern policing. Participants will meet Thursday evenings to learn about patrol operations, K-9 units, drones, specialty teams, and can even take part in ride-alongs. Interested residents can email the department to learn more or apply.
   

• Roxanne Eigenbrod Zak, 72 (concordbridge.org) — Suffield readers may remember Roxanne Eigenbrod Zak, who moved here as a child, met her future husband in fourth grade, and helped organize her school’s first Earth Day celebration. The longtime environmental advocate and former Suffield High student has died at 72, with a memorial service planned in Concord, Massachusetts this May.
