Picture Suffield - Then And Now
An old photograph and a brief story from a business or landmark from Suffield's past, and how that site appears today.

SUFFIELD, CT — The Suffield Library has had many of the town's high school yearbooks digitized and available for viewing on the website archive.org. Inside the pages are wonderful memories of school days past, but also a look at some local businesses of the time.
In this periodic column, we revisit those local institutions which supported the students via yearbook advertisements. Today's offering was published 55 years ago, from the 1969 yearbook, Sagitta - an ad from John's Foodtown.
The store was founded in 1958 by John M. Klaus, who had co-owned the Suffield Public Market since 1946. Klaus retired as president in 1985, and passed away two years later at 71.

Located in the Mountain Road Market Place, the site was home for many years to CVS Pharmacy. They vacated it when they constructed their own freestanding building across the street in 2015.
Part of the old CVS was recently leased by Resilience Physical Therapy and Wellness. The other portion is still unoccupied.
