Public Hearing for Possible Small Cities Grant

The Town of Suffield is soliciting public input on an application for a Small Cities grant of approximately $500,000.

The Town of Suffield will conduct a Needs Assessment Public Hearing at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, in the bottom-floor conference room of Town Hall, 83 Mountain Road.

The purpose of the Needs Assessment Hearing is to solicit suggestions, comments and recommendations from citizens, municipal departments and other interested groups for consideration of activities for the Town's application for 2012 Small Cities funds through the State Department of Economic and Community Development. The public is encouraged to attend to provide the Town of Suffield with input and assure that public participation remains an integral part of the Small Cities Application process.

The Town of Suffield anticipates applying for $500,000 for handicapped accessibility improvements to the Kent Memorial Library.

The hearing is accessible to those with disabilities. To insure complete access to and participation at the public hearing, inform the Economic Development Commission of your needs at the address or number below at least 48 hours prior to the public hearing. These limitations may include visual or hearing disabilities, ambulatory disability, language barrier, etc.

Those unable to attend can submit written requests and comments to the Economic Development Commission, 83 Mountain Road, Suffield, CT, 06078, (860) 668-3849, by May 2, 2012.

The Town promotes fair housing and makes all programs available regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual preference, marital status or handicap.
