The ability to defend ourselves, in a life-threatening situation starts long before the need to fight.

Graduating from High School and College and moving onto the next chapter in our lives is a very exciting time.

It can also be an extremely vulnerable time in life.

This class will help you recognize and navigate potentially dangerous situations and people.

Giving you critical thinking skills to help keep you safe.

In this one, 2 hour class you will learn all about situational awareness.

Which is the ability to identify, process and comprehend what is going on around you.You will also learn how to take your intuition or gut feelings to the next level.

In the second part of the class you will learn simple, but effective self defense techniques. Techniques that everyone will be able to master. Allowing you to get out of choke holds and grabs.

No previous experience is required. This is not a martial arts program.

Instructor: Cheri DeMaria, Certified Situational Awareness Trainer and Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do

Time: 5:00-7:30 p.m. (Pizza and snacks will be served at 5:00 p.m. and class will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m.)

Location: Suffield Senior Center on Thursday, July 18
