Sen. Kissel Thanks Suffield Residents For Attending Sidewalk Event

State Sen. John Kissel sent a letter to Suffield Patch to thank Suffield residents for visiting with him at the recent "senator on your sidewalk" event.

I want to thank all of the area residents who stopped to chat during my Sept. 27 "senator on your sidewalk" event outside the Suffield CVS pharmacy.

You raised many issues and concerns which I will take to Hartford. The common theme was that you feel you are overtaxed and that state government needs to cut back on its wasteful spending.

I agree wholeheartedly.

If we are to create a pro-business environment here in Connecticut and start to grow jobs again, we need to lower our tax and regulatory burdens and we need to reduce the size and scope of state government. That's exactly what I will continue to fight for.

Many thanks to the management and staff at CVS for allowing this senator to stand on their sidewalk on a Tuesday afternoon. Meeting with Suffield residents face-to-face and hearing your concerns makes me a more informed legislator and helps me to better serve you at the State Capitol.
