Suffield Election Results 2022: Kissel, Zawistowski Retain Seats

SUFFIELD, CT — The polls have closed in Suffield and vote counting is under way in several key federal and state races, including the office of governor, U.S. Senator, Congress, and local state senators and representatives.

Patch will update the results as they come in. Here are the races local voters decided on:

7th Senate

Longtime Republican incumbent John Kissel won his 16th term over Democratic challenger Cynthia Mangini. With all but one precinct reporting as of 1:30 a.m., Kissel held a lead of more than 4,000 votes, according to unofficial totals from the Secretary of the State's office.

Incumbent Republican Tami Zawistowski defeated Democratic challenger Jim Irwin. With one precinct yet to report as of 1:30 a.m., Zawistowski held a lead of more than 700 votes, according to unofficial totals provided by the Secretary of the State's office.

Judge of Probate

With eight of nine precincts reporting vote totals to the Secretary of the State's office as of 7 a.m. Wednesday, Democrat Dan Mara had more than doubled the support of Republican Edward G. McAnaney. The Tobacco Valley probate court covers Bloomfield, East Granby, Suffield and Windsor Locks.
