Suffield Fire Captain On Leave Of Absence After Recent Arrest
An incident late Friday afternoon resulted in a warrant for his arrest, issuance of a protective order and a requested leave of absence.

SUFFIELD, CT — A volunteer captain with the Suffield Fire Department was arrested Monday on a warrant charging him with disorderly conduct and conspiracy to commit third-degree assault, in connection with an incident which occurred late Friday afternoon.
John Guzie, 54, was released after posting 7 percent of a $50,000 cash bond. He is slated to appear in Hartford Superior Court Sept. 23.
According to a criminal information summary report provided to Patch upon request, the incident which resulted in Guzie's arrest took place on North Grand Street at 5:07 p.m. Friday. No further details have yet to be released.

A protective order by an unidentified complainant was served on Guzie Tuesday, according to public information found in Connecticut judicial records.
Police Chief James Canon told Patch, "The entire case remains open pending additional investigation into the circumstances, specifically regarding any others involved in the underlying incident."
