Suffield On The Green Features Dog Showcase, BBQ On Sunday
The second day of Suffield's annual festival hosts a canine contest and an acclaimed cookout along with much more.

Bring your dogs and eat a light breakfast to fully enjoy the offerings of Suffield On The Green's final day.
A dog showcase, canine contest and cookout are featured events Sunday, along with a plethora of other offerings including music, activities, kid's games, a large craft fair and more.
The canine contest is open to all interested participants. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: biggest, smallest, friendliest, furriest, funniest costume, best dressed, most athletic, best trick, best smile, most exotic breed and best in show. Dogs and owners must register between noon and 1:30 p.m. at the north green for the 2 p.m. contest.

A reading of children's book Blarney the Dog continues the canine theme at 2:45 p.m. A very local product, the book was written by Suffield resident Kelly Reilly Wright and photographed by her young son Liam Wright. Blarney, the family dog and book's main character, lives in Suffield as well.
A police K-9 unit demonstration, pet exhibits and activities, a pet memorial board and a dog obstacle course round out the dog showcase events.

The Suffield Rotary cookout, another popular event, will leave attendees with full stomachs after a visit to the south green.
Attendees can listen to three hours of live music from two groups on Sunday. Echo and Drake play a 90-minute set on the south green starting at 11 a.m. and Take 2 takes the south green from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The craft fair features dozens of tents housing original works from more than 70 area artists and artisans. It is located on the grounds of the historic Hatheway House at 55 South Main St.

Sunday's events, hosted by the non-profit group Friends of Suffield, begin at 11 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m.
