Suffield Players Announce Anniversary Plans
The local theater group has a diverse offering of performances, retrospectives and events scheduled throughout the year.

The Suffield Players are celebrating the organization’s 60th year as a community theater group with a variety of performances, events and promotions.
The Players’ official 60th anniversary production, Lady Windermere’s Fan, begins May 3 at 8 p.m., with additional evening performances on May 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19. A Saturday matinee is scheduled for May 13 at 2 p.m. This satirical comedy by Oscar Wilde is the 140th play staged by the group.
Attendees may receive a gift of free tickets to an upcoming show. The 60th theatergoer entering any Suffield Players performance through the end of the year, the “Diamond in the Door,” will get free tickets.

A yearlong recognition of past members of The Suffield Players, “Diamonds of the Past,” is another component of the anniversary celebration. Longtime town residents and attendees may recognize what they see in “Everything Old is New Again,” a presentation of scenes from past productions scheduled for showings at Suffield on the Green in September.
, the Suffield Players’ main venue, is in need of repair to its entrance. The “Sixty-Dollar Stepgift” program earns donors a place of honor mention in future programs and newsletters with a $60 donation to the Players’ Diamond Jubilee fundraiser.
