Suffield Players Perform 'It's a Wonderful Life' Radio Play Live for Holiday Fundraiser
The Suffield theater group is hosting its annual fundraiser by performing a radio play script of the classic holiday story at Mapleton Hall on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

are staging It’s a Wonderful Life: a Live Radio Play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as the centerpiece of their annual fundraiser.
The staged reading of a radio play will require significant effort from the actors as rehearsals will be at a minimum and improvisation is highly valued. Performers are limited to items already in Mapleton Hall to use as props and costumes in this holiday challenge.

The performance is general admission only and no reservations are required. As part of the fundraiser, there is not a set price associated with admittance. Attendees are encouraged to donate $10 at the door to benefit the community theater group.
The fundraiser also features a teacup raffle during intermission each night. Volunteers from the players package donated goods and services into baskets and boxes, which are then bid on by audience members.

“It’s quite a hoot for all concerned,” said Mary Fernandez-Sierra, publicity director for the Suffield Players.
The group will hold performances at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee. The doors at Mapleton Hall open one hour before the show begins.
The cast, made up of performers from Suffield and the surrounding area, includes Stephanie Chernoff, Emmy Cote, Hannah Gabriel, Stuart Gamble, Timothy Glynn, Zach Gray, Erik Leeming, Robert Lunde, Stephanie Maloney, Roger Ochs, Mark Proulx, Shannon Proulx, Jordan Reed, Dana T. Ring, Amy Rucci, Kelly Seip, Daniel Viets, David Webber and Virginia Wolf.
The live reading will be directed by Meghan Lynn Allen from Joe Landry’s script, which itself was adapted from the screenplay by Frances Goodrich, Albert Hackett, Frank Capra and Jo Swerling.
It’s a Wonderful Life is a holiday classic, showcasing main character George Bailey’s “crisis of faith and redemption” during the holiday season, according to a flyer for the performance.
