Suffield Police Earn State Accreditation
The department says it was recognized for meeting hundreds of professional standards.
SUFFIELD, CT — The Suffield Police Department has earned Tier 2 and Tier 3 accreditation from the Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council, officials announced.
The recognition, awarded on November 13th, builds on the department’s Tier 1 accreditation, awarded in 2023.
Police said the process required hundreds of hours of work over two years and confirms the department meets all state-required law enforcement policies and standards.

In Connecticut, police department accreditation through the Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POSTC) is tiered, with each level building on the last.
Accreditation is ongoing. In 2026, Suffield Police will undergo a new Tier 1 review covering 148 policies and 340 standards.
