Suffield Roads Open This Afternoon, Water All Around
High water levels caused some short term road closures this morning but public works employees have been working hard and roads in Suffield are open and passable.
Despite early morning delays and a few road closures, almost all roads in Suffield are open and passable, although they are wet.
Portions of Route 75 and Thrall Avenue were closed early Thursday morning but reopened in time for school dismissal and the afternoon commute.
Christine Koren, administrative assistant to the first selectman, said public works employees were working all day. The public works department's efforts in town, clearing and maintaining roadside drains, marking off waterlogged areas on the roadside and more, were easily visible throughout Suffield Thursday.

Koren also said residents had been calling about water-related issues, including flooded yards, as well.
Stony Brook, Muddy Brook and Suffield's portion of the Connecticut River were all gushing, moving strongly with high water levels. More rain may lead to more road closures.
