Parents in East Haddam can mark the first day of school coming later this summer.

EAST HADDAM, CT — Back-to-school planning has already begun with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in East Haddam Public Schools.

The first day of school for most students in East Haddam is Aug. 30.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in East Haddam.

East Haddam Public Schools

First Day: Aug. 30

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25-26

Winter Break: Dec. 24-Jan. 1

Spring Break: April 18-22

Last Day: June 10

The official calendar is available through the East Haddam Public Schools' website.

The CDC has recommended that all students and staff in K-12 schools wear masks this fall due to the highly infectious Delta variant of the coronavirus. Gov. Ned Lamont has not made a ruling on mask wearing for the state's students, but is reportedly likely to follow the federal agency's guidance.
