  1. Killingworth's newest business is the Batter and Bowl Bake Shop, sited next door to the Killingworth Family Pharmacy at 183 Route 81, formerly the location of the Cozy Corner Bakery. Owner Christina Miconi and her husband did all the extensive renovations to the space themselves. Hours are Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (hk-now.com)
  2. Haddam's Sydni Therrien was named to the 2023 spring semester Dean's List for Bridgewater College. Therrien, a psychology major, was among roughly 530 students who made it to the Dean's List, which was given out by Provost and Executive Vice President Dr. Leona A. Sevick. Dean's List students achieve a GPA average of 3.4 or better out of a maximum of 4.0. (hk-now.com)
  3. Connecticut Foodshare held its annual Walk Against Hunger in Hartford's Dunkin' Park this past Saturday, May 20. Thousands participated in the event, which helps to serve hungry people in 169 towns in Connecticut. Foodshare President and CEO Jason Jakubowski expects roughly $400,000 to have been raised by the organization - which will go to about 800,000 meals, distributed by organizations like Gantry's Open Cupboard Food Pantry.(Eyewitness News 3)

  • Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue is excited to announce that their horse, Cheyanne, has the opportunity for full-time training at the Bear Paw Barn in Middleton, with guidance from Amy Gardner Anderson.   • The Killingworth Library is a recipient of the 2023 Summer Enrichment Grant! This year, the Connecticut State Library awarded 13 grants of up to $2,000 per library. Because of this grant, the Killingworth Library is able to offer American Sign Language classes for tweens through seniors as part of its Find Your Voice summer reading program.(Killingworth Library Association via Facebook)
  • The Congregational Church in Killingworth, a United Church of Christ, shared a live stream of its Sunday, May 21, service on Facebook, available at the link!
