Bicyclist, 78, Seriously Injured In Crash In Killingworth: State PD

The bicyclist was transported by Deep River EMS then later LifeStar to Hartford Hospital for suspected head injuries, police said.

KILLINGWORTH, CT — A 78-year-old bicyclist from Killingworth was seriously injured after being involved in a crash with a motor vehicle on Route 80, state police said.

On Saturday afternoon, a 2019 Kia Sorrento was traveling eastbound on Rt. 80 when the driver saw a bicyclist in the right lane, state police said.

The car moved into the westbound lane of Rt. 80 to avoid the bicyclist, when the bicyclist turned into the Kia, state police said.

The bicyclist was transported by Deep River EMS then later LifeStar to Hartford Hospital for suspected head injuries, state police said. This accident is still under investigation. If anyone witnessed this accident, please call Troop F in Westbrook.
